Well THAT escalated quickly!

epona_harperHave you ever had one of those dreams where you wake up completely convinced that the setting it occurred in exists SOMEWHERE? Because that's what happened to me last night.
I dreamed that I was at an SCA event (big shock), but the shower house was, shall we say, unique. It was built inside a cave that was on the site. Like many caves, it had a spring inside, and some clever person had installed a water heater, piping and stalls to create a very nice shower set up...especially compared to certain sites we use. The thing is, this cave was located a little away from the rest of the site...meaning it was across a 60 foot wide river...with no bridge...and no boats.
So, in order to get a shower at this event, you had to swim the river, get clean, then swim back. In my dream, it was early in the morning before the start of the event when a group of us ladies decided we wanted to get showers. We figured we'd leave our towels and clothes on the camp side of the river, swim over, shower, swim back, and, if a few early risers happened to see us, no big deal.
So we did. I was the first out of the shower and saw either we had taken much longer than we thought or the event had started early because the opposite bank was hopping with activity as guys were getting into armor for inspection and people were running around setting up pavillions. I thought to myself, "well, crap. But they're fellow SCAdians. They'll understand." So I swim back...only to emerge from the river in front of a reporter with a camera in his hands. I was telling him to put down the stupid camera and hand me my towel, when I woke up.
The thing is, in the first minute after I woke up, I was CONVINCED that some SCA site somewhere had a shower house in a cave. Not one where you had to swim a river to get to, but a shower in a cave none the less.
So, fellow SCAdians, did my subconscious make this up out of whole cloth or have you heard of such a thing?
